Campus Pride & Wolfe Video Partner to Release LGBT Youth DVD Guide for Colleges & Universities this Fall

August 3, 2009, Charlotte, NC– Campus Pride (www.campuspride.org) and Wolfe Video (www.wolfevideo.com) announced today a partnership between the two organizations to support lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) and ally students at colleges and universities across the country, including the release of a LGBT Youth DVD Guide (www.campuspride.org/dvdguide.asp).

Wolfe Video is the oldest and largest exclusive distributor of gay and lesbian films. In 2009, the company released more than thirty films and is well known for releasing classics such as DESERT HEARTS, BIG EDEN and Thom Fitzgerald’s epic 3 NEEDLES. Campus Pride was founded in 2001 and is the leading national nonprofit organization serving LGBT and ally college students and campus groups. Both organizations partnered to provide a new LGBT DVD Guide specifically for colleges and universities. The guide provides suggested videos and resources to bring quality LGBT films and videos to campus.

“Colleges and universities are always looking for films to bring to campus – fun, educational, enlightening and diverse. Wolfe Video is the premier distributor to do this,” said Windmeyer. “The new DVD guide provides a great way to showcase an array of LGBT films and documentaries.”

In addition to the LGBT Youth DVD Guide, Wolfe Video also provided a film screening of the multi-award winning film WERE THE WORLD MINE at the Campus Pride Summer Leadership Camp this past July. In addition, Campus Pride will also receive complimentary DVDs for give-aways throughout the year.

“Seeing ourselves represented on the silver screen can be one of the most empowering experiences for LGBT people coming of age,” said Wolfe Video president Maria Lynn. “We’re so happy to have Campus Pride helping us reach the LGBT students who want and need to see these images of themselves.”
